ABS
Side Plank Leg Lift
An advanced side plank that adds a top-leg lift to raise the stakes. It works the obliques and glutes hard while demanding balance, since lifting the leg makes staying rigid tougher. Great for building lateral core strength and hip abductor power at once.
How to do it
- 1
Lie on your side with the bottom elbow directly beneath your shoulder, forearm pointing forward.
- 2
Press up so your body forms a straight line from shoulders to feet, top hand on your hip.
- 3
Keep the top leg straight and lift it up and away from the bottom leg.
- 4
Lower it back with control and repeat for your reps, keeping the hips high throughout.
- 5
Roll to the other side and do the same number.
