Partner Pallof Twist

BeginnerCableResistance band

A partner version of the Pallof exercise where your partner anchors a band to create resistance as you rotate away. Fighting the band's pull trains anti-rotation and rotational control through the obliques. The shared setup adds a stability challenge you don't get from a fixed cable.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand beside your partner, both facing the same direction.

  2. 2

One partner holds a loop band; the other grabs the far end and steps out until it's taut.

  3. 3

Both extend their arms straight out from the chest with a slight bend at the elbows.

  4. 4

Both brace their cores to resist the band and stay braced the whole set.

  5. 5

Partner one twists away from partner two, arms staying out front, while partner two holds firm against the pull.

  6. 6

Twist back to center, then trade who twists; switch sides and repeat.
