Medicine Ball Russian Twist
A loaded Russian twist that adds a medicine ball for resistance. Even a light ball makes your core work harder to both drive and control the rotation, so it's a good way to progress the standard bodyweight twist.
How to do it
- 1
Sit on the floor holding a medicine ball in both hands in front of your chest.
- 2
Lean back slightly and lift your heels a few inches off the ground.
- 3
Brace your core to stay stable throughout.
- 4
Twist slowly to one side, bringing the ball toward your hip.
- 5
Rotate back through center, then twist to the other side, alternating.
- 6
Keep your chest up and let your core do the work, not your arms.
