ABS
Decline Overhead Weighted Sit Up
A demanding sit-up variation done on a decline bench while holding a weight overhead. The decline keeps constant tension on the abs, especially near the top, and the extended weight adds both resistance and instability the core has to fight. It's an advanced way to make sit-ups significantly harder.
How to do it
- 1
Set up on a decline bench and grab a weight with both hands.
- 2
Hold the weight at arm's length above you, stacked over your shoulders.
- 3
Contract your abs to curl your torso up off the bench.
- 4
Let the weight travel back over your head as you rise.
- 5
Keep the core engaged and pause briefly at the top.
- 6
Lower your torso back down slowly under tension, keeping your arms stacked and core braced even between reps.
