Cable Wood Chop
A rotational cable move that drives the handle diagonally across your body, training the obliques and core to produce and control rotation. Because the cable keeps tension the whole way, it carries over well to real-world twisting and athletic power.
How to do it
- 1
Set the pulley to its highest setting and attach a single handle.
- 2
Stand side-on to the machine with feet about shoulder-width apart.
- 3
Grip the handle with both hands, reaching your near arm across your body and rotating slightly toward the pulley.
- 4
Keeping your core braced and arms extended, pull the handle down and across to your outside knee while hinging your hips back slightly.
- 5
Return to the start under control, then repeat and switch sides.
