Cable Russian Twists
This advanced twist combines a stability ball with a cable, so the obliques rotate against constant tension while the whole core fights to stay balanced. The unstable base recruits the deep stabilizers hard. It's a demanding builder of rotational strength and control.
How to do it
- 1
Set a pulley to about shoulder height with a handle, and sit on a stability ball a foot away.
- 2
Walk out until your upper back rests on the ball with knees bent at ninety degrees.
- 3
Hold the handle with straight arms and clasped hands over the center of your chest.
- 4
Keep your hips still and level as you rotate your torso away from the pulley.
- 5
Rotate only as far as you can while keeping your hips fixed, then return to the start.
- 6
Finish your reps and repeat on the other side.
