Balance Trainer Side Star Plank

AdvancedStability ball

A rotating side plank built around a BOSU dome for extra instability. Turning from a plank into a side plank and back challenges the obliques, shoulders, and hips while your body constantly corrects for the wobble. A tougher take on the standard side plank.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand behind the trainer and place both hands on the dome.

  2. 2

Walk your feet back into a plank, feet hip width or a touch wider.

  3. 3

Lift one arm and rotate into a side plank, reaching that hand to the ceiling.

  4. 4

Rotate back down into the plank position.

  5. 5

Do your reps on one side, then repeat rotating the other way.

  6. 6

Keep the core braced and avoid letting the lower back sag.
