TRAPS
Upright Row
A barbell upright row that mainly builds the traps while also hitting the shoulders. The bar keeps the movement stable so you can focus on pulling hard, and it carries over well to more advanced pulls like Olympic lifts.
How to do it
- 1
Stand upright holding a barbell with straight arms, hands shoulder width, bar resting on your thighs.
- 2
Drive your elbows up toward the ceiling, keeping the bar close and moving straight up.
- 3
Hold a neutral spine throughout.
- 4
Once the bar reaches chest height, lower it back down to the start.
