SHOULDERS
Underhand Rear Delt Raise
The underhand rear delt raise targets the back of the shoulder, and the supinated grip shifts the emphasis to help the rear delts fire more. Bent forward at the hips, you put those often-neglected muscles under direct load. It's a smart addition for balancing out the shoulders, improving posture, and supporting joint stability.
How to do it
- 1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand with palms facing forward.
- 2
Hinge back at the hips with knees slightly bent until your torso is around 45 degrees, arms hanging under your shoulders.
- 3
Keeping your arms nearly straight, raise the dumbbells out and up to the sides in an arc.
- 4
Lift until they reach just above shoulder level.
- 5
Lower them back down under control and repeat.
