SHOULDERS
Shoulder Squeeze
The Shoulder Squeeze targets the muscles between the shoulder blades, like the rhomboids and mid-traps, by drawing the elbows back and retracting the scapulae. It's a simple movement that helps counteract rounded posture and reinforce shoulder stability. You can do it anywhere, with or without added resistance.
How to do it
- 1
Stand tall and bring your arms forward with elbows bent to about 90 degrees.
- 2
Open your arms out wide while pulling your shoulder blades together.
- 3
Squeeze at the end range and hold for two to three seconds.
- 4
Return to the starting position under control.
- 5
Keep the motion driven by your upper back rather than shrugging your shoulders up.
