PVC Around the World

BeginnerBodyweight

The PVC around the world is a mobility drill that circles a light pipe around your head and body. Using a PVC pipe keeps the load minimal so you can focus purely on opening up the shoulders. It's great for improving shoulder flexibility and range before more demanding overhead work.

How to do it

  1. 1

Grip the PVC pipe with both hands overhand, palms facing away, using a fairly wide grip.

  2. 2

Stand tall with your core engaged, back straight, and eyes forward.

  3. 3

Swing both arms to one side so one hand is over your head and the other is low, with the pipe roughly vertical.

  4. 4

Bring the top hand around your head so the pipe passes behind your back, opening the shoulders.

  5. 5

Continue the circle around to the front until the pipe is back in front of you.

  6. 6

Return to the start, then reverse direction and repeat, loosening your grip as needed.
