Partner Wheelbarrow Walk

BeginnerBodyweight

The partner wheelbarrow walk is a bodyweight drill where one person holds the other's legs while they travel on their hands. It hammers the shoulders and core and demands balance and coordination from the person walking. Beyond the strength work, the teamwork element makes it a fun, challenging addition to a session.

How to do it

  1. 1

Partner 1 gets into a high-plank with hands under the shoulders and arms straight.

  2. 2

Partner 2 stands just behind their feet.

  3. 3

Partner 1 lifts one leg at a time so Partner 2 can grab each ankle and hold them at about waist height.

  4. 4

Partner 1 keeps the core tight, back flat, and legs active.

  5. 5

Partner 1 walks forward on their hands, one placement at a time, while Partner 2 matches the pace and keeps a firm grip.

  6. 6

Continue to your chosen finish line, then switch roles and repeat.
