Handstand Walk

AdvancedBodyweight

The handstand walk is a demanding bodyweight skill that loads the shoulders, triceps, and core while you move on your hands. It takes real upper-body strength plus the balance and coordination to hold an inverted position while traveling. It's excellent for building shoulder stability and full-body control.

How to do it

  1. 1

Place your hands on the floor just outside shoulder-width with your feet down and knees slightly bent.

  2. 2

Kick your legs up overhead into a handstand, shifting your hands as needed to find balance.

  3. 3

Brace your core by breathing into your belly and keep a slight arch through your back.

  4. 4

To move, lean your legs forward a touch and step one hand at a time to follow them.

  5. 5

Keep your hips stacked over your head so you don't tip too far forward.

  6. 6

Continue walking for your chosen distance or time.
