Partner Curl Handoff

This two-person curl has partners trading a barbell back and forth, each performing their reps before passing it over. It works the biceps like a standard curl while adding a coordination and pacing element that keeps both people engaged and honest through the set.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Both partners face each other with knees soft and feet about shoulder width apart.

  2. 2

    Partner 1 grips the barbell underhand at shoulder width, resting it just below the hips.

  3. 3

    Partner 1 braces the core, keeps the back straight, and locks the elbows to the sides.

  4. 4

    Partner 1 curls the bar up in an arc, then lowers it under control for the set number of reps.

  5. 5

    Partner 1 hands the bar over, and Partner 2 completes their reps the same way.

  6. 6

    Keep passing the bar back and forth for the duration of the exercise.
