BICEPS

Machine Preacher Curl

BeginnerMachine

The machine preacher curl isolates the biceps with your upper arms braced on a pad, locking them in place so you can't swing the weight. The machine supplies the stability, letting you drive the muscle hard through a controlled path — a clean, low-fuss way to build the biceps.

How to do it

  1. 1

Sit in the machine with your chest pressed against the pad.

  2. 2

Reach over the pad and grip the handles underhand with your arms resting on the surface.

  3. 3

With your upper arms flat on the pad, bend your elbows to curl the handles up toward your shoulders.

  4. 4

Bring the handles up until your forearms nearly reach your biceps.

  5. 5

Lower the handles back down under control until your arms are extended.
