BACK
Loop Band Shoulder Squeeze
The loop band shoulder squeeze isolates the back while also involving the shoulders, traps, and triceps. Since band tension climbs as you pull it apart, it's especially good for building strength at the very end of the range where you squeeze hardest. It works well late in a session when you want to fully fatigue the back.
How to do it
- 1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a band overhand with your arms extended out in front at shoulder height.
- 2
Pull the band apart, sweeping your arms out in a circular path until they're straight out to your sides.
- 3
Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the end of the movement.
- 4
Return your arms to the start under control and repeat.
- 5
Pick a band that lets you move through the full range without stalling out.
