Loop Band Pull Up

The loop band pull-up assists your standard overhand pull-up with a band under your foot. Unlike a fixed counterweight, the band gives the most help at the bottom and less as you rise toward the bar, mirroring where you need it most. It's a great tool for building the strength to eventually rep out full pull-ups.

How to do it

    Loop the band over the center of the bar to make a foot cradle.

  2. 2

    Place one foot in the loop and grip the bar overhand.

  3. 3

    Hang with arms straight and your body in one line.

  4. 4

    Brace your core and pull your chest toward the bar by driving your elbows down toward your ribs.

  5. 5

    Once your chin passes the bar, lower under control and repeat.
