BACK
Incline Dumbbell Row
Lying chest-down on an incline bench takes your torso out of the equation, so this row hits the back without help from momentum or your lower back. The bench support means you can pour your effort into moving the weight rather than holding position. Dumbbells let each side work independently.
How to do it
- 1
Set the bench to about 45 degrees and lie face-down on it, holding a dumbbell in each hand with arms hanging and palms facing in.
- 2
Drive your elbows up and back past your torso to row the dumbbells toward your lower ribs.
- 3
Focus on pulling with the elbows rather than curling the weight up.
- 4
Squeeze your back briefly at the top.
- 5
Lower the dumbbells back down under control and repeat.
