BACK

Hammerstrength Iso Row

BeginnerMachine

A chest-supported row on a Hammer Strength machine that builds the back. The machine guides the handles along a fixed arc and supports your torso, so you can focus on pulling hard instead of holding position. A stable, beginner-friendly way to train the rowing pattern.

How to do it

  1. 1

Sit upright in the machine with your chest pressed against the support pad.

  2. 2

Grab the handles with either an overhand or neutral grip.

  3. 3

Brace your core to keep your spine tall and neutral.

  4. 4

Keep your shoulders relaxed and pull the handles back, driving your elbows past your sides at about 45 degrees from your torso, until the handles reach you.

  5. 5

Return the handles to the start under control, keeping your back against the pad, and focus on driving through your elbows rather than your biceps.
