Partner Plank Hold And Jump

IntermediateBodyweight

This partner drill pairs a plank hold with lateral jumps: one person holds a rock-solid plank while the other leaps back and forth over them. The holder builds core endurance and stability while the jumper trains explosive leg power. It's a fun, cooperative exercise that adds teamwork and accountability to the work.

How to do it

  1. 1

Partner one sets their forearms on the floor with elbows under the shoulders and legs extended, feet together.

  2. 2

Partner one lifts the hips into a straight-line plank and holds it, never raising the hips, for the full set.

  3. 3

Partner two stands alongside, feet roughly level with the plank's hips and about shoulder-width apart.

  4. 4

Partner two dips into a quarter squat, swings the arms back, then explodes up and over the partner.

  5. 5

Partner two lands softly in a half-squat, resets, and jumps back across for the whole set.

  6. 6

    Swap roles and repeat.
