QUADS
Partner Hook Squat
The partner hook squat is a bodyweight squat done back-to-back with a training partner, arms interlocked for mutual support. Pressing into each other lets you balance and hold the squat position, working the quads and glutes. It's a cooperative exercise that also builds trust, timing, and teamwork.
How to do it
- 1
Stand back-to-back with your partner and interlock your arms at the elbows.
- 2
Set your feet about shoulder-width apart.
- 3
Keeping steady pressure against each other's backs, slowly walk your feet forward as you both bend your knees.
- 4
Lower your hips until your ankles, knees, and hips are all bent to about 90 degrees.
- 5
Hold the seated position by squeezing your quads and glutes while your cores stay braced.
- 6
Walk your feet back under you and press through your legs to stand, supporting each other the whole way.
