Partner Band Sprint

BeginnerResistance band

This partner drill has you sprint against a resistance band anchored by a training partner, loading the quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves. The live resistance builds explosive drive and speed, and having a partner adjust the tension in real time makes it a versatile tool for sprint conditioning.

How to do it

  1. 1

Partner 1 loops a band around their waist while Partner 2 grips it firmly from behind.

  2. 2

Partner 1 sets a staggered stance in a shallow lunge with arms ready to pump.

  3. 3

Partner 2 steps back until the band has tension, bracing to resist the pull.

  4. 4

Partner 1 explodes forward, driving the front leg into the ground and pumping the arms.

  5. 5

Partner 2 leans onto the heels to hold resistance, then follows with small steps as their partner advances.

  6. 6

Sprint the set distance, then swap roles and repeat.
