Lateral Box Shuffle

BeginnerBodyweight

The lateral box shuffle moves you explosively from side to side over a low box, tapping one foot on top as you cross. The sideways travel trains the adductors and lateral power along with agility and endurance. It's a strong drill for athletes who need quick lateral speed and coordination.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand beside a low box with the near foot on top and both arms extended behind you.

  2. 2

Keep your back flat and chest up.

  3. 3

Explode off the top foot to launch up and laterally across the box, swinging both arms forward.

  4. 4

As you cross, bring the opposite leg up to land its foot on the box.

  5. 5

Land on the ball of your foot with a slight knee bend to absorb the impact, swinging your arms back.

  6. 6

Repeat from that side and keep shuffling back and forth for your set.
