QUADS
Dumbbell Squat To Shoulder Press
A two-in-one move that links a dumbbell squat straight into an overhead press. It trains the quads and shoulders together in a functional, full-body pattern, and makes a solid foundation for more explosive lifts like thrusters down the line.
How to do it
- 1
Stand with feet about shoulder-width apart and toes slightly out.
- 2
Clean a dumbbell to each shoulder, palms in and elbows forward.
- 3
Keep your weight even across both feet.
- 4
Push your hips back and sink into the squat.
- 5
Track your knees over your second toe while bracing your core and staying neutral.
- 6
Drive up out of the squat and press the dumbbells overhead until they line up with your ears, then lower them back to your shoulders.
