Balance Trainer Sumo Squat Jumps

A wide-stance sumo squat with an explosive jump onto and off a BOSU dome. The jump adds power and conditioning while the dome landing challenges balance and control. A beginner-accessible plyometric for building leg drive and coordination.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Stand behind the balance trainer with a wide stance.

  2. 2

    Bend your hips, knees and ankles into a squat with knees and toes turned out.

  3. 3

    Jump from the squat onto the top of the dome, sticking the landing for a moment.

  4. 4

    Jump back down to the floor, landing in the wide sumo squat.

  5. 5

    Keep good, upright posture and a braced core throughout.

  6. 6

    Absorb each landing softly through bent knees.
