Balance Trainer Stability Ball Overhead Squats
An overhead squat performed on a BOSU dome while holding a stability ball above your head. The unstable base plus the overhead position recruits stabilizers throughout the body, and the light ball lets you groove the pattern without heavy load. A demanding, advanced way to train mobility, balance and the quads together.
How to do it
- 1
Stand on the dome with your feet hip-width apart and as level as possible.
- 2
Lift the stability ball overhead and hold it there for the whole set.
- 3
Slowly bend your hips, knees and ankles to lower into a comfortable-depth squat.
- 4
Press back up to a balanced standing position.
- 5
Keep your chest lifted and your core braced throughout.
- 6
Drive your hips back on the way down and forward on the way up rather than just bending your knees.
