HAMSTRINGS
Leg Swing
The leg swing is a dynamic stretch that loosens the hip flexors and hamstrings through a controlled front-to-back motion. Swinging the leg like a pendulum builds mobility, flexibility, and coordination before a workout. It's an easy, effective warm-up to prime the lower body for more demanding movements.
How to do it
- 1
Stand about a forearm's length from a wall and place one hand on it for balance.
- 2
Shift your weight onto one leg.
- 3
Lift the other leg just off the floor and swing it forward, keeping the knee straight.
- 4
Let it swing back down past your midline and behind you as far as it comfortably goes.
- 5
Use a little momentum to feel the stretch through your hamstrings, hips, and quads.
- 6
Switch legs and repeat.
