Kettlebell Power Clean

IntermediateKettlebell

A single-arm take on the power clean using a kettlebell. Holding the load on one side forces your core to fight rotation and stabilize the torso, adding a balance challenge on top of the hip-driven power the movement develops.

How to do it

  1. 1

Straddle the kettlebell with feet slightly wider than your shoulders, toes turned out a touch.

  2. 2

Keep your core tight and spine neutral for the whole lift.

  3. 3

Hinge back and reach down to grip the handle with one hand, palm facing back.

  4. 4

Let the bell swing behind you, then fire your hips forward and stand to drive it upward.

  5. 5

Rotate your palm in and tuck your elbow to your side, catching the bell in the rack with your forearm vertical.

  6. 6

Lower it back between your legs and to the floor to reset.
