CALVES

Balance Trainer Lateral Cross Over Jumps

BeginnerBodyweight

An explosive side-to-side plyometric that has you bounding over a BOSU dome, landing on it and beyond. The unstable landings force smaller stabilizing muscles in the lower legs to fire alongside the calves and quads. A fun way to build lateral agility, balance and ankle control.

How to do it

  1. 1

Stand to one side of the balance trainer with a narrow stance.

  2. 2

Bend your knees and jump sideways, landing centered on top of the dome.

  3. 3

Continue jumping in the same direction, landing on the far side of the trainer.

  4. 4

Reverse and repeat the lateral jumps back toward where you started.

  5. 5

Keep good posture and a braced core throughout.

  6. 6

Absorb each landing softly through your knees and ankles.
