TRICEPS
Standing Dumbbell Tricep Extension
An overhead triceps isolation done standing with a single dumbbell held in both hands. Being on your feet instead of seated adds a mild balance demand, which makes it a handy option for developing triceps strength that carries over to everyday movement.
How to do it
- 1
Grip one end of a dumbbell with both hands, palms facing each other.
- 2
Stand with feet hip-width apart and knees slightly bent.
- 3
Set the dumbbell behind your head with your palms facing upward.
- 4
Keep your core tight, back straight, and eyes forward to hold good posture.
- 5
Extend your arms to press the dumbbell straight overhead, keeping your wrists neutral.
- 6
Pause at the top, then lower back down slowly while keeping the triceps under tension.
