TRICEPS
Cable Underhand Tricep Pushdown
An underhand-grip take on the cable pushdown that shifts extra emphasis onto the inner head of the triceps. Flipping your grip changes the angle of pull and gives the muscle a slightly different stimulus for growth. The cable holds tension the whole way, so definition and elbow-extension strength both benefit.
How to do it
- 1
Face the machine with your feet about shoulder-width apart and a slight bend in your knees.
- 2
Take the bar with both hands, palms facing up.
- 3
Keeping your elbows locked at your sides, press the bar down toward the floor.
- 4
Squeeze the triceps and pause for a moment at the bottom.
- 5
Let the weight rise back up slowly while keeping the triceps under tension.
- 6
Stay tall with your core braced, chest up, and shoulders back throughout.
