TRICEPS
Single Arm High Cable Tricep Extension
A single-arm triceps extension run off a high cable, with the emphasis on the long head. Starting with the cable up over your shoulder puts the muscle on stretch before you press. Working one arm at a time sharpens focus and helps balance out arm development.
How to do it
- 1
Stand with your back to the cable machine in a staggered stance, the working arm lined up with the cable and the same-side foot forward.
- 2
Take the handle so the cable runs over your shoulder from above.
- 3
Lock your shoulder and elbow in place and press the handle forward using only your triceps.
- 4
Pause at full extension while keeping the triceps tight.
- 5
Let the handle draw slowly back to the start, keeping your torso still rather than leaning into it.
- 6
Complete your reps, then switch arms.
