LOWER BACK

Loop Band Superman Press

BeginnerResistance band

A loaded superman that adds a band pull-apart on top of the classic back extension. It works the whole posterior chain, from lower back and glutes to hamstrings, while the arm action pulls in more of the upper back. The extra range makes it a stronger back builder than the plain version.

How to do it

  1. 1

Lie face down on a mat with a loop band around your wrists.

  2. 2

Double the band over if you want more tension.

  3. 3

Fire up your back and glutes to raise your chest, arms, and legs off the floor.

  4. 4

    Hold that lifted position.

  5. 5

Pull the band apart by engaging your back and shoulders, drawing your elbows toward your sides.

  6. 6

Take the band behind your head if you can, hold the peak briefly, then reverse back to the start.
