CHEST
TRX Chest Press
The TRX chest press uses suspension straps to turn a pushing movement into a bodyweight exercise for the chest, shoulders, and triceps. Since you set the difficulty by how far you lean, you can adjust resistance on the fly mid-set, and the straps add instability that recruits more stabilizers than a fixed machine.
How to do it
- 1
Face away from the anchor and hold a handle in each hand at chest level with the straps taut.
- 2
Brace your core and hold a straight line from heels to shoulders with no sag in the low back.
- 3
Lean forward so your body angles toward the floor and your arms reach out ahead of your shoulders.
- 4
Bend your elbows to about 45 degrees and lower your chest between the handles.
- 5
Press back to straight arms, exhaling as you push, and adjust your foot position to make it easier or harder.
