Partner Rolling Ball Push Up

AdvancedMedicine ball

This advanced push-up has partners rolling a medicine ball between them as they alternate reps with one hand on the ball. The uneven hand position and rolling ball add instability, forcing extra core and shoulder engagement on top of the usual chest and triceps work.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Both partners set up in push-up positions parallel to each other, with the outside hand resting on a medicine ball.

  2. 2

    Partner 1 keeps the ball hand out wide and the other arm extended under the shoulder.

  3. 3

    Partner 1 braces the core and holds a flat back.

  4. 4

    Partner 1 lowers into a push-up, keeping most of the weight on the grounded arm.

  5. 5

    Partner 1 presses back up, then rolls the ball across to the far partner.

  6. 6

    Partner 2 places a hand on the ball and repeats, rolling it back after their reps.
