CHEST
Incline Push Up
Placing your hands on a raised surface makes the push-up easier by taking weight off your arms, which is ideal for beginners still building pressing strength. It keeps the chest, shoulders and triceps working through a full press with less load. A good stepping stone toward floor push-ups.
How to do it
- 1
Set your hands on a raised platform just wider than shoulder-width, arms fully extended.
- 2
Tuck your toes and brace your core so there's a straight line from heels to shoulders, feet about shoulder-width apart.
- 3
Bend your elbows to lower your chest toward the platform, keeping the elbows at roughly 45 degrees to your body.
- 4
Let your chest lightly touch the surface.
- 5
Press back up to full arm extension and repeat.
